Real Motion, Real Mechanics
Twist the spring, release the kickstand and watch it ride 7–10 ft while the engine pistons move. A fun way to explore gears and motion for curious teens, adults and engineering fans.

I love the idea and the finished motorcycle looks great, but getting there took me longer than the suggested 5 hours. Some pieces are tiny and you really have to pay attention to the diagrams. The spring drive does move it forward but mine only goes about 5 feet on carpet. Still a fun build, just more fiddly than I expected.
Thanks for the honest take, Megan—hard floors definitely give the best run distance.
The kit mentions using a tiny bit of candle wax on the gears but it’s easy to skip past that. Mine didn’t run very smoothly at first until I went back, applied wax and re-tested. After that it works great. Would love that step to be more obvious in the booklet.
Really helpful note about the wax step, Eric—thank you!
End result is fantastic, but I wouldn’t give this to someone with zero model experience. There are 400+ tiny parts and the spring mechanism takes patience. If you’ve done wooden puzzles before you’ll be fine, but absolute beginners might get frustrated.
Overall a great kit, but a couple of the smaller pieces were VERY snug going into the slots and I was nervous about snapping them. I ended up lightly sanding a few tabs and it was fine. Once built it runs smoothly and looks awesome on my shelf.
Thanks for the tip about lightly sanding tight joints, Christopher!
For what I paid, I’m impressed. The wood has a nice finish, the laser etching is crisp, and the final model looks more expensive than it is. I might stain or clear coat it later, but even unfinished it’s display-ready.
